About

I’m an American Expat who’s been living in Madrid for the past 2 years, which is about 1 1/2 years longer than my initial plan… and about 1 1/2  years longer than my visa. (oops)

I graduated with a degree in Marketing from Miami University, then I decided to come out to Madrid and try my luck at teaching English as an Aupair. Makes perfect sense, right? (…cricket… cricket)

Well, I’m a very easy person to get along with, and the mother of my Aupair family was… to put it nicely… a complete bitch. And although the experience was horrifying, {insert cliche here…} I learned a lot about myself.

I moved out of the family’s house and into a teeny little apartment in the center of the city with Ricardo, my boyfriend- who claims he’s Spanish although he speaks better English than I do.

We’ve been going strong for almost 1 1/2 years now, during which time I have been giving private English classes ranging from the cutest 5 yr-old Spanish redhead to a 35 yr-old business man.

Guiris helping Guiris is the idea of this blog {foreigners helping foreigners}. I’m here to give information, advice, share stories about all aspects of Madrid / Spain… from the food, transportation, markets, culture, and lifestyle.

I hope you find my posts even the slightest bit helpful (& entertaining).

…Oh, and I just decided to open up an Etsy Shop with a some photos I’ve taken while traveling. Feel free to check it out  http://www.etsy.com/shop/JessiArielle?ref=si_shop
